About
I have just finished my thesis on the ideological context of science popularisation in The Strand Magazine and the Sherlock Holmes stories. I have presented material from the thesis to the British Association of Victorian Studies and at the British Library. I have also presented papers on football as an ideological arena and issues surrounding press representations of the BNP.
My research interests include literature and science, periodical studies, fin-de-siecle studies, the work of Arthur Conan Doyle, Grant Allen and H. G. Wells. I maintain interdisciplinary interests in cultural, film and television studies.
